It is difficult to meet the requirements of high-quality products for silicon modified polyester and will inevitably affect its promotion and application.
As the main component of silicon modified resin - polyester prepolymer, its relative molecular weight, distribution, and molecular chain structure will inevitably have a significant impact on the performance of the final modified resin. Generally speaking, polyester prepolymers contain more linear chain structures and have better flexibility; Containing more benzene rings, the hardness is better, and the miscibility with other resins is also better. The structure and composition of organic silicon intermediates are also important. Generally speaking, modifying organic silicon intermediates with side chains of benzene ring can improve their miscibility with other resins and wet dispersibility with pigments; The modification performance of organic silicon intermediates with ethyl, propyl or other longer burning groups on the side chain improves the weather resistance and water resistance of the modified resin.
